Η γυναικάρα απ' το Κιλκίς

A mother of Pontic origin, Sultana, who lives in Kilkis and has three children, leaves her husband, Nondas, a spendthrift who wants to become a politician, in the face of destitution, and comes to Athens to work, thereby addressing their financial problem. She firmly resists a swindler, Sifi, and his girlfriend Mara, who try to push her into prostitution, and disguises herself as a man to get a job at a travel agency. Nondas also arrives at the same office, having come to Athens to find his wife, and gets a job as a doorman at a hotel. Sultana and Nondas, cooperating effectively, manage to foil the plans of Sifi and his gang, who want to kidnap the daughters of a sheikh, who are in Greece on vacation. For this act they are generously rewarded by the sheikh. After this they return again to Kilkis with a good sum of money and a look full of optimism for the future.
